I Am Awesome! is a story about building self-esteem and loving your amazing, surprising, beautiful, and powerful self. 

 

The book shares the message that when we take the time to honour and celebrate our awesomeness, we are better able to love who we are and celebrate life. The more we can love and celebrate our own life, the more we are able to love and celebrate others.

What started as a sticky note story in my journal from 2015, has become an illustrated children’s book, I am Awesome in 2021.

I Am Awesome was inspired by Qi Creative’s vision, Create youR Awesome: we have the ability to create our awesome, we already are awesome, and your awesome is worth celebrating!

Qi Creative’s definition of Awesome:

Awesome is feelings of awe. Awe is feelings of fear and wonder. Fear and wonder is respect for something or someone that is amazing, surprising, beautiful, and powerful. Creating YouR Awesome is creating respect for your amazing, surprising, beautiful, and powerful self.

About Paula

Love Fiercely. Dare Greatly. Play with Colour. Create Awesome. Celebrate Life.

Paula is a registered social worker, a trauma specialist and an entrepreneur that believes every person is awesome. She is the co-author of the internationally-acclaimed illustrated children’s book, My Name Is Trauma and has helped thousands of people through workshops, keynotes, and seminars to build resilience through connection, play, and trauma-informed care. Paula’s most notable work is showcased in the award-winning feature documentary Balikbayan: From Victims To Survivors (2020).

She helped facilitate creative trauma interventions with Streetlight Philippines Orphanage following Typhoon Yolanda in 2014. She is a feisty leader who is inspired to love fiercely, play with colours, and create more awesome in the world. She lives in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, with her husband and two beautiful children.
